Having started as a family business (in 1945), Engels has grown into the leading Belgian manufacturer of external joinery. The aim has always been to provide only the highest quality products offering the customer a range of sizes, styles, glazing and colour.

We are proud of the products that we manufacture and sincerely believe that they are the best on the market. However, we are not complacent and are always looking for ways to improve the product.

Ongoing research into all aspects of design and manufacture has stood Engels in good stead and our products are always at the forefront of design.

Company History

For over half a century the main Engels production facility has been at Lokeren. It is an imposing site, covering some 90,000 square metres. The company, whilst being a market leader in the manufacture of timber windows and doors has not confined itself solely to the Belgian market.

In France, we have a subsidiary company under the name of Engels France, which operates through two distribution points with showroom facilities. In the Netherlands, a network of representatives oversee distribution. In Luxemburg, UK, Germany, Spain, Canada and even Japan we have set up solidly based distribution facilities.

It is, above all, the UK and Japan where we are currently seeing sustained growth due to the high quality of our products and our unfailing flexibility, two attributes which have convinced even the most demanding of our clients.

The Nineties saw the start of new production systems. In March 1993 the range was extended to incorporate windows and doors in synthetic materials. Thus Engels continues its role as innovator. It produces a quality product which meets with clients' requirements.

Currently the company enjoys the position of market leader. This is a direct result of the investment in advanced techniques, controlled expansion, quality products and first rate service to our customers.
